A couple weeks ago, a co-worker and I stopped at a light next to a car playing music so loud it was overloading the speakers and distorting heavily. My co-worker wondered aloud why anybody would play their music that loud. "They're probably lonely and attention-starved," I surmised.
"What makes you say that?" my co-worker asked.
"I used to play my music really loud," I matter-of-factly replied.

Saludos, Andrew! If you can believe this, I played drums at a jam session over the weekend, maybe the first time in 35 years. I was really smacking the ride cymbal; don't know if that makes me attention-starved. Anyway, it's time present, and I've just returned from a local Steinway shop, which has some perfect jazz instruments. I played a piece that I wrote over the weekend; ballad tempo, with slow-moving, open harmonies. Beautiful weather down here. Ciao!
